The Premier EPOS software has 2 levels of categorization, Type and Sub-Type. The Type represents a broad range of products, in a Pet based system it could be Cat or Dog as a starting point for example. The Sub-Type can then be broken down into options like Dry Food, Wet Food, Treats, etc. There is no limit on the system to how many Types you can create or how many Sub-Types they can contain.
The Types & Subtypes editor can be found under Stock > Types & Subtypes. Please see below screenshot.
Once you click on the Types & Subtypes button, the editor will open inside of the main window. Please see below screenshot.
The function, Auto Insert Types is designed to prefill your Types and Subtypes table with ready made data based on your store. Currently we have pre-made lists for Pet Store, Convenience Store, Garden Centre and Bar/Restaurant.
While the initial import of the pre-made Types is not customizable, once the type information has been added, you have complete freedom to modify your Types and Subtypes as you wish.
In order to import the pre-made Types, you would click on the Auto Insert Types button and the Types Template menu will appear. Please see below screenshot.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Before reaching the Types Template menu, a warning box will appear. This warning is there to stop a user from Type inserting. This is because using the Auto Insert Types function will DELETE ALL existing Types and Subtypes. Please see below screenshot.
As such, using the Auto Insert Types is only recommended for new stores.
If you choose one of the pre-made lists, the system will import the selected list. If you're using the Auto Insert Types function, you will need to refresh the Types & Subtypes window in order to see the newly imported Types. Please see below screenshot.
Once the pre-made list has been imported, you can add additional Types, edit the pre-made Types or delete them if they do not relate to your store.
To Add a new Type to the system, you would press the New Type button. Please see below screenshot.
Once you press the New Type button, the system will ask you to enter the name of the new Type. Please see below screenshot.
After entering the name of the new Type, the Type will appear on the previous screen.
To add a new Subtype to the system, you must first select the Type that the Subtype is under. Once you have highlighted the Type, you would then press New Subtype. The system will then ask you to enter a name for the new Subtype. Once you have entered a name, the new Subtype will be added to the list.
To edit an existing Type, you would first need to select the Type and press the Edit Selected button in the Types section. Please see below screenshot.
