In-depth guide to customer groups
Introduction
The Premier EPOS software has the function to group Customers together for the purpose of Special Offers and Discounts. The Customer Groups function can be found in Customers > Customer Groups. Please see below screenshot.

Once you click on the Customer Group button, this will open the Customer Groups window. Please see below screenshot.

Group Editor
The first tab in the Customer Groups window is the Group Editor. This is the section where you create or edit existing Customer Groups. A Customer Group must be created/selected before using the other tabs.
Creating a Customer Group
When creating a Customer Group the minimal amount of information that must be filled in is, Group Name, Discount Percentage and Minimum Restriction Level. All of these details must be filled in before creating the Customer Group.
Group Name

The Group Name is the first detail that you must enter when setting up a new Customer Group. The name is designed to represent the purpose of the Customer Group. For example a group for Staff members could be called Staff Group or a group for Tradesmen could be called Trade Group.
Discount Percentage

The Discount Percentage sets how much overall percentage discount the customer will be getting during a transaction. If you want to set discounts on single product or a range of products, that is achieved on the Group Discount tab.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: This discount can be set at 0%.
Minimum Restriction Level

The Minimum Restriction Level sets what level of User can add customers to this Customer Group during the Customer sign-up. We recommend setting this to match the minimum level of User with the ability to create customers.
Add Group
Once you have filled in the Group Name, Discount Percentage and Minimum Restriction Level, you are now ready to create the Customer Group. To create the group, you would now press Add Group button. Please see below screenshot.

These details are the minimum amount of information required to create a Customer Group, but there are additional options available on this tab, such as Points Multiplier, Price Level and more. The next part of this guide will cover these additional options.

This option will pop-up a message for the Staff member on the Sales Screen when a Customer who is in this group is selected. This message is only viewable by the Staff member. Once you have filled in the Show Message box, the message will appear. Please see below screenshot.
