The following section is an in-depth guide to setting up Custom Columns on your Premier EPOS software. These columns are designed for recording unique information that is NOT normally recorded in your database.
The Custom Column Editor is located in the Stock Manager, under the Search Tab. In the Stock Manager, the button is named Edit Custom Stock Fields. Please see below screenshot.
Once you click the Edit Custom Stock Field button, a new menu will appear. Please see below screenshot.
This option is used to create new Custom Stock Fields. To create a new column, for example Colour, you will start by clicking Create New Field and entering the name of the field, in this case, Colour.
Once you have entered a name, it will ask you for a Field Type. For Shopify Integration for example, you would be selecting Text and leaving the Default Value blank.
Once you have created the Custom Column in the editor, it should appear like this:
This option will delete the highlighted Custom Columns. It will confirm before deleting the field. Please see below screenshot.
This option will change the highlighted Custom Columns name.
This option will change the highlighted Custom Columns default value. As previously mentioned, the default value can be blank.
This option will apply the Custom Columns value to specific types or sub-types when the products are created. Please see below screenshot.
Once you have created the Custom Column, you can close the Custom Column Editor.
Please note upon closing the Custom Column Editor, it will also close the Stock Manager. This is a normal operation when looking at the Custom Column Editor. You will be able to reopen the Stock Manager immediately after closing the Custom Column Editor.
To add the Custom Column to the Stock Manager's layout, you will need to open the Stock Manager and go to the Layout tab. Please see below screenshot.
In the Layout Tab, click on Edit / Customise Current Layout. This will open a new window which will allow you to modify the layout of Stock Manager. Please see below screenshot.
In the Table Fields section the Layout Customiser, click on the Add button. This will show another window where you can add the new field, Colour for example, you have just created to the layout. Please see below screenshot.
Once you have selected it from the menu, it will ask if you would like to use a custom title for the column. This custom title will only affect the column header name in the stock editor and not the original name you choose. It will then appear in the Layout Customiser window, at the bottom of the list by default. Please see below screenshot.
You can use the Up and Down arrows on the right hand side of the Layout Customiser to manipulate the position of ALL fields.
This Layout Customiser window will automatically save your changes. So once you have finished setting up your Columns, closing the Layout Customiser will immediately make your changes. In our example we had added Colour to the layout. Please see below screenshot.
